Ok so today looking and looking I found something very interesting and sad Samsung just said that they will be leaving us with 1.5 and there will be no upgrades on our OS...This really suxs because I bought this phone for all its possibilities and with there promise that they would upgrade us this summer or latest end of summer to 2.0 or 2.1 and now nothing. My source that I read was in an Android forum.  Angry Cry I'm still hoping thet come to there senses and reconsider......

That's not accurate! While there has been NO official word from Samsung or T-Mobile regarding this, it does now seen that Samsung will not be providing an Android update to 2.x, however, they are providing a full OTA update to Android 1.6 in the end of the summer. If this is to be believed it is better than nothing but still not good.

FYI there is a thread on Android Forums that you all should look at. It's called "Push T-mobile & Samsung to Support Their Devices." ...ah screw it I'm gonna take a lot of heat for this, but here is the link:

http://androidforums.com/samsung-behold-2/82735-push-t-mobile-samsung-support-their-devices.html

i realize posting this is against forum rules but i am forced to post it because it is crucial for further development of the phone, and thus crucial for the survival of this forum. everyone should take a look at this thread and maybe do what it says...probably will make no difference, but you never know.

That's where I have been, busy trying to be a voice. Numbers speak loudly. I signed the petition and I have been following about every word closely. It's really interesting how this has all played out. Eugene373 (google will help you find him, even twitter) has been working on getting a rom for the BH2 with 2.1 so if we don't officially get one, I'm all down for hacking it so it will last as long as I had anticipated instead of so short.

My background on this, my personal feelings.

I have owned only Samsung handsets since I obtained a cell phone subscription in 2004. My last phone was the Blast and my wife had the Blast. I have also used many different products throughout the house, to this monitor I am looking at now, to ram in the computers, to the TVs. Not only my house but my parents, it's pretty thickly spread. I personally will not buy another Samsung product if their company doesn't change the direction with this, which may be the case. I still have hope...

My point is, I didn't get the Cliq for my wife with anticipations it was going to be getting updated, I didn't even know it was until earlier this year. But when I got my phone, the online video convinced me of better things to come, the representatives in the store and on the phone convinced me of better things to come, I like probably most if not all BH2 owners feel misled.

On closing, it still is a good phone for me for the time being, but the next upgrade I may want, will be based on any potential future action from Samsung. Which looks like there may be none. I am voicing it though, so it be known. This business model may have been successful with old dumbphones where a new phone did give you better benefits over trying to update software in it, but when you start messing with a different part of the industry that involves expandability, the reason phones cost so much and why people buy them is a different beast.

All of the BH2 owners may not make a difference to them to even probably care, they got so many different markets that it may be a mosquito bite. Especially when there are other phones they are pushing out now and new potential buyers that aren't aware of what they'll probably be stuck with. Well, lessons learned, too bad it cost me so much heh
