Just bought the full version of ahome to replace the touchwiz home with a more stock android feel. reasons why its better:

-icons snap into place when  arranging desktop
-multiple home screens (i have 5 going instead of the stock 3)
-app tray scrolls smoothly (like stock android)
-no cube-like screen transitions when flipping through desktop.
-themes
-custom icons
-custom layouts
-stock app tray
-touchwiz elements removed (when using ahome only)
-still have access to cube menu

there is much more too!

full version is $4.99 on android market and totally worth it! get it today, i promise you'll love your phone that much more.

to purchase aHome you must by it directly from the developer as they do not officially support the 1.5 market. they accept paypal and will email you install instructions and two versions of aHome, at least that's what they did for me. one will work on android 1.5 and the other works on newer versions. YOU WILL NEVER FIND AHOME ON OUR VERSION OF THE MARKET!

Here is the developer's website: http://www.mappn.com/soft.php?id=2
i don't represent the developer at all and only suggest aHome because I love it. Buy it at your own discretion.

Okay - I give up.  I cannot find aHome on Android Market. I'll wait until you stop laughing.

There are approximately 616 downloads that come up for "aHome" and about 156 when narrowed to just apps by mAPPn, Inc and having gone through all of those, I still haven't found it.    Embarrassed

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Widgets are only supported on the full version. Gotta bye full version directly from developers web site as they don't officially support the android 1.5 market but the developer still will distribute their original 1.5 apk along with copy of higher android version apk. At least that's what he did for me, but you can't get it on the market gotta use his site. He takes paypal.

Has anyone else but me been frustrated about the big fat tease that ahome lite gives us cupcakes? "Here's a button right when we say hello--go get this much better version on us from the market!" And then no dice. And then we can't even directly get it anywhere...we gotta pay for what was free and get the better program we can't use with it, just to rub it in? Fab. Anyone know a good bittorrent?

NO TORRENTS CAN BE POSTED ON THIS FORUM. IT IS STEALING!

BTW ahome has always been a paid app. it is not officially supported on android 1.5 anymore, just the lite version which is missing some key features. if you want the full version contact the dev directly and he will send you the older compatible apk but it will cost you. i posted this earlier in the thread:

not trying to be a jerk, but read the forum rules, please. posting torrents or other warez is not allowed. we don't support stealing dev hard work, we believe they should reap the rewards of their hard work. Please pay for the apps you use it's the right thing to do. Thank you.

Sorry!! Seriously though...FYI reading through the support forum on the developer's site, the version that we have to buy was a free test version, right? And I couldn't find anywhere that said that for 1.5 users they have fixed any of those issues. Don't think it is really fair that we have to pay the same price for less, or that a lot of people got for free.

i actually don't think it's unfair because he sends the newest version to you as well, so if the OS was ever updated by sammy you could load it up. but FYI ahome lite is the free version/original "test" version. no where on there site will it mention real support for 1.5. i emailed the dev and he sent me a 100% working version for 1.5 that is not available on the market. i used it as well as all the other replacement apps (dx top, sweeterhome, panda, GDE you name it) and ahome full ran by far the best! ahome is a full featured home replacement on the behold, when you by it.  Wink

PS i say ditch the replacement apps all together and load up BH_MAN's ROM you won't be sorry!  Grin
but of course do that at your own risk.
